Fractional CFO · Atlanta · Remote CFO Services
I build the financial operating system underneath founder-led companies — so the numbers arrive in time to act on, not in time to explain.
About
Randy Clinkscale, MBA, is a fractional CFO and the founder of Remote CFO Services, where he works with founder-led companies in the $2M–$20M range.
With 14+ years of senior finance leadership across public companies, venture-backed startups, healthcare, construction, professional services, and nonprofits, he helps owners install practical financial operating systems that create clarity, control, and enterprise value — the difference between running a business and reading about it after the fact.
He is the author of The CFO Operating System, a three-part series built on the 5C framework. He also writes the Free and Clear books and trains accountants moving into fractional CFO work.
Randy is Columbia Business School CFO certified, holds an MBA from Troy University and a BS in Accounting from Southern University, and completed the GoingVC Venture Capital Executive Program. He is based in Atlanta.

Most businesses don't lose money in the places owners are watching. These are the five accounts I open on every engagement — and what it looks like when one of them is quietly out of balance.
| Account | What it measures | When it's off |
|---|---|---|
| Cash Position | What you actually have, today, net of what's already spoken for. | Profitable on paper, tight every Friday |
| Collections | The speed at which finished work converts back into cash. | Growth makes the squeeze worse, not better |
| Commitments | Every obligation you've signed for, including the ones nobody logged. | Renewals and true-ups arrive as surprises |
| Capacity | Runway — how long the current shape of the business can hold. | Decisions get made on hope, not on months |
| Controls | Who can commit the company, and what happens when they do. | Diligence turns up things you didn't know |
